Today when I rolled up for my daily house checkup, I was psyched to see the front door painted brown. When I walked around to unstrap Carter from his seat, it hit me. Hello, brown garage door. I felt blindsided. I've been comfortable with the white and wasn't expecting a change. At first, I was mad - I called Matt and left him a voicemail that went something like, Hi babe, just calling to congratulate you on becoming the owner of a giant BROWN garage door.
But now it's kinda grown on me. Matt & I have reached a point where we don't even know which one we like better. If we want it white again, we're going to have to tell them within the next two days. Then, I realized I can just utilize the power of the blog. Will you take a second to vote and help us decide?
WHITE
PEBBLE
I like the tan color more because it blends in with the house!
ReplyDeleteThe tan is too light and blends into the house too much. I'd go with a darker tan so that it pops.
ReplyDeleteI like the pebble color.
ReplyDeleteI like the pebble colour. It blends in and makes it look more part of the house than just a garage door. x
ReplyDeletei like white color .. its making all colors blend in it... white is the ideal choice.
ReplyDeleteI like the pebble color a lot.
ReplyDeleteI like the white for the garage door. I totally understand how you feel about this. My husband and I are in the process of building a house and just had our pre-drywall walkthrough. We had a list of over 19 items to fix. And we already tried to change a few items and were told it is too late :-( Goodluck and your house is beautiful by the way!
ReplyDeleteI like the white garage door better. White matches the trim and windows. I think that with the pebble color and brown front door and all of the white trim, there is just has too much going on :) Your house is just beautiful BTW :)
ReplyDeleteI vote white. The white makes the rocks & siding pop where the pebble blends in too well.
ReplyDeleteHey I think you should go with the white so it has more contrast or a darker brown....you want some contrast. The pebble door blends too much with the rest of your house! Plus it just looks better!
ReplyDeleteI love the Pebble. Your house is Gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteI really like the white it gives your house some pop plus you have white trim so it matches. The pebble kind of blends in.
ReplyDeleteI keep going back and forth. I think I like the white though? Love the brown door :)
ReplyDeleteI like how the pebble blends in, with the white it makes the door somewhat of a focal point and you don't want your garage door to be a focal point.
ReplyDeletewell with that brown door you should just throw in the towel, give the house to me and start from scratch.....j/k they both look nice, I say save resources and keep it the way it is unless you HATE it. The house is gorgeous, can you sense my jealousy???
ReplyDeleteI like the pebble better, because you focus on the HOUSE and the happy, inviting windows, not the garage.
ReplyDeleteThe white really pops! It looks crisp and matches all of the white trim. The pebble color is too much with the brown door. Love the brown door tho!!!! Go WHITE!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeletego pebble :) Personally, I wouldn't want my garage door to stand out and pop. When people come to visit the first thing I want them to notice will never be my garage door.
ReplyDeleteThat's my vote..pebble :)
personally, i like when both doors were white. if the front door is staying brown though, the pebble colored garage door blends better.

ReplyDeleteI agree with Allison. I liked white front door with a white garage door. I don't think the pebble looks bad, but I prefer when both doors match.
why is the second picture so bright?
ReplyDeleteI really think it's hard to say because of the lighting being so different in the pics. The only reason I'd say white is because the lighting from that day makes the other colors on your house look very nice. You should put up a different pic if you really want to base this on our opinions :) The house is beeeeautiful though!
ReplyDeletethanks everyone for the input!! everyone has such good points, i'm sooo confused!
ReplyDeleteamy w. - the second picture was on a sunny day. the first picture was an overcast, rainy day
@JKL done jenney! my stipulation is that when you move here, you & mimi have to hang out with me & carter 24/7 :)
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love the dark front door and pebble garage door. It brings it all together really nicely. White actually doesn't 'pop' in my opinion.....it also gets dirty easily. I think a lot of people are saying white because the sun isn't shining on the house in that picture so it's easier to see the colors. Either way your new home is so pretty... Enjoy it : )
ReplyDeleteThe pebble color is absolutely beautiful. I love it! It really makes the colors in the house flow well. White makes the garage door the focal point of the house and takes away from the beauty of the house itself. So excited for you Meghann, your house is gorgeous!

First, what is the color the entire house? Bethany is right, tan blends in with any kind of color. If you just want me to choose between white and pebble, I'd prefer white. It will make your garage door a little more fabulous!
