starting to decorate

Forget unpacking! I needed some pretty things in my empty space. I toted Carter to Michael's and got a little crazy in the white & green flower sections.

Try as we may, Carter just can't get a hang of the word Pretty. Unless ... he doesn't think these are pretty?

I'm still on a daily mission to get new rugs, curtains, side tables and whatever else pops out and asks me to bring it home. It's not easy with a low no patience Carter pattering destructively around the stores. I shouldn't really complain though, he listens really well in public. It's only a matter of time until he realizes that not listening is on his list of options.

We have a hurricane on its way tonight; it's even cloudy and windy right now. Luckily, we're near the center of the state, so it won't hit our brand new, justbuiltfiveminutesago house too hard. I hope.

  1. Very pretty! You're doing much better than I. We have been in our new house for nearly 4 months and I've got nothing up on the walls. I've painted one room and I just lost steam after 4 coats. What you said before about feeling like you're house sitting? That is EXACTLY how I feel!

I am still waiting for the real owners of this house to come home and boot us out. I feel like it's just too nice for us. It doesn't feel like home yet. I wonder when it will happen!

  2. Be safe through the storm!

I am going to be facing the same problem very soon-- we're buying a house now! Only problem I have is once we pay closing costs and such-- we're not going to have much left for decorating... I will have to get creative lol.

  5. oo00h I'm loving green and white stuff at the moment too. But yours are way better than my Ikea attempted decorations. lol. Is a hurricane the same as a cyclone? It looks huge! Hope it downgrades to just a mild storm when it hits your beautiful home. Take care xx

  7. Wow pretty love your flower arrangements! the rocks in the vases are so awesome! I can tell your house is going to be so stylish! Are you going for a shabby chic look!! It reminds me of shabby chic...love it Target actually has a line called shabby chic...with side tables, bedding, curtains and everything. Just an idea, if you are going for that look. Plus you can't beat the prices!
