what we wore: birthday

Carter's birthday made this past week forty times busier than usual. I'd been running around town nonstop getting ready for his Saturday party {ahem, until my wallet got stolen}. We used his actual birthday as a day to do practically nothing. We ate Thai food for lunch, played outside and lit a cupcake for dinner. We got a little dressed up for our day of nothing, though. You should always look cute on your birthday. Especially if it's your son's birthday.

Unless, of course, it's the actual day you give birth to him. Lucky for us, that was two years ago.

Yes. There was some bff collab going on between the two of them while they were getting dressed.

I have an explanation to go with this outfit. I'd been dying to wear this eyelit-looking dress since springtime, but I was nervous about how short it was. I got creative and threw my favorite white skirt underneath - it added length and style.
